In Robert Frost’s famous poem, The Road Not Taken, a traveler is confronted with the dilemma of which path to take when the road he is traveling suddenly diverges. The poem’s conclusion implies that the traveler made his choice, and that the consequence was, in some unspecified way, profound. Thoughts of this poem came to me after seeing an article published today in the online edition of the Wall Street Journal. The article details the travels of 10 members of Congress (4 Republicans and 6 Democrats and their spouses) to a sequence of exotic destinations. The taxpayer-funded trip was organized to help quench the lawmakers’ thirst for knowledge of the fearsome effects of Global Warming.
